MOSCOW: Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft does not agree with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Anton Siluanov that a major oil contamination last month was its fault, RIA news agency quoted the company as saying on Wednesday.
Siluanov said earlier on Wednesday that Russia should not pay for mistakes by Transneft from the budget.
Transneft said that such a view was a "simplified assessment" of what had happened, RIA reported.
