ISLAMABAD: Chief Meteorologist Abdul Rashid Thursday said the weather would remain hot and dry till Eid.

Talking to APP, Met Office’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre Karachi Chief Meteorologist said, “The early days of June remain hot as continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. However after 15 June the temperature declines as afterwards rainfalls start with the advent of July.”

He said that the heat wave scenario in Karachi was to diminish in the coming days where no serious situation was expected. It was a normal weather occurrence which was mostly felt by the masses due to fasting in the month of Ramazan, he added.

According to weather forecast by Met Office for Thursday mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country, while very hot in eastern Balochistan, Sindh, plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

However, dust-thunderstorm and rain was expected at few places in Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Peshawar, Bannu, Rawalpindi divisions and Islamabad.

The forecast for next 24 hours stated mainly hot and dry weather expected in most parts of the country, while very hot in eastern Balochistan, Sindh, plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, dust-thunderstorm and rain was expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.

During the last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country, while very hot in eastern Balochistan, Sindh, plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, rain-thunderstorm also occurred in Parachinar 03 millimeter which was recorded during last 24 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The highest maximum temperatures noted in the past 24 hours were Jaccobabad 49°C, Dadu, Moenjodaro, Larkana 48°C, R.Y.Khan, Sibbi, Noorpur Thal, Rohri, Bahawalnagar and Sukkur 47°C.
