WAH CANTT: An oil tanker carrying fuel supply to NATO forces came under fire during wee hours of Monday, Motorway and Wah Cantonment police sources said.
Talking to APP, Chief Patrolling Officer (CPO) National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) DSP Malik Mohammad Iqbal said the oil tanker (DMR- 571) was fired at around 02:00 am on Grand Trunk (GT) road near Interchange link road.
On receiving the information, NH&MP patrolling cars reached the spot and diverted the traffic to avert any untoward incident, he said.
The CPO further said the fire fighting units from Pakistan Ordnance Factories and Tehsil Municipal Administration Taxila were also called out to extinguish the fire.
A Cantonment police contingent also rushed to the sits and launched a search operation in the area.
