Mehwish Hayat defends 'her choice' of doing item numbers in Pakistani movies
Actress Mehwish Hayat has once again came under fire for doing an item number ‘Gangster Guriya’ in an upcoming film ‘Baaji’. The Pakistani actress has replied to all the trolls who have once again questioned her morality.
The newly released song has created quite a stir as fans do not support the concept of item number that too in Pakistani films. Hayat dons a bold and edgy avatar as she dances her heart out in the latest song, which has irked many Pakistani film fans.
Responding to all the critics, she wrote, “To do these dance numbers has been my choice. As an actress and performer, it is my job. As a woman I find my work empowering. Dance to me is aesthetically the purest form of art”.

Osman Khalid Butt, who also stars in the movie, is the creative director and lyricist for the song while Taha Malik is the music director. It has been sung by Indian singer Sunidhi Chohan.
The song has been receiving a lot of flak on social media due to poor lyrics and Hayat’s bold avatar.
