Sonam reveals no one wanted to work with her in ‘Khoobsurat’ before Fawad Khan

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan became an instant hit in Bollywood after he made his debut with Sonam Kapoor in ‘Khoobsurat’. Sonam opened up about his casting for ‘Khoobsurat’ as she said no one wanted to work with her before Fawad came onboard.

While talking to Filmfare, Sonam said, “I can’t explain how difficult it was to make ‘Aisha’. Do you know how much effort it took to make ‘Khoobsurat’? No hero wanted to work with me because it was called ‘Khoobsurat’. I had to get Fawad Khan from Pakistan. And look what happened. Fawad became a huge star. He had the confidence”.

Fawad rose to fame with ‘Khoobsurat’ later on got some meaty roles in films like ‘Kapoor and Sons’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. He has got huge fan following in India. He was also offered many other roles in Bollywood but due to strained situation of two neighboring countries he couldn’t work in India.

She also talked about the struggle she has to do to get good roles in movies. “Initially, when I came in the industry, everyone said she ís born with a silver spoon, they alleged nepotism, etc. They didn't know that I had auditioned for Saawariya (2007), I had auditioned for Delhi 6 (2009) and that I've auditioned for every film I've worked in,” she said.
