PARIS: The European Union awarded in the week ending June 21, licences to import 162,000 tonnes of Ukrainian barley under annual tariff-free quotas, data published by the European Commission showed.
The award marked the second significant volume so far to be booked from the 2019, Ukrainian barley quota. Nearly 102,000 tonnes were cleared the previous week.
There remained 364,179 tonnes available out of the total quota of 635,000 tonnes, the data showed.
This year's tariff-free quotas for Ukrainian maize (corn) and wheat have already been fully booked.
The EU also cleared imports for 2,750 tonnes of wheat under the quota open to all origins, and 3,044 tonnes in the quotas open to all origins apart from the United States and Canada, the data showed.
