Accountability court sends Hamza Shehbaz on 14-day judicial remand
An accountability court sent on Friday Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Hamza Shehbaz on a 14-day judicial remand in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.
The opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif both appeared before the court. During the hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor requested the court to extend the physical remand of Hamza.
The bureau also said that Hamza was not cooperating with the investigation, local media reported. Rejecting the extension plea of NAB, the court has sent Hamza on a judicial remand. Hamza has been under NAB's investigation in cases involving Ramzan Sugar Mills, Saaf Pani project and assets beyond known source of income.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz told the accountability court judge that NAB has made a false and a baseless case against him.
