MOSCOW: Russia saw a net capital outflow of $27.3 billion in the first half of 2019, a rise from $11.1 billion in the same period last year, mostly due to transactions by banks to keep funds abroad and pay back liabilities, the central bank said on Tuesday.
The current account surplus in January-June declined to $45.8 billion from $47.7 billion in the same period of 2018, it said.
