BUCHAREST: Romania's foreign trade deficit widened by about 30% on the year in January-May to 6.52 billion euros ($7.31 billion), the National Statistics Board said on Wednesday.
The shortfall in May was 1.482 billion euros against April's 1.382 billion euro deficit.
The statistics board said January-May CIF (cost/insurance/freight) imports were 35.9 billion euros, up 8.3 percent on the year, while exports were 29.3 billion euros, up 4.4 percent.
