Exxon Mobil Corp on Friday reported a process unit upset led to the evacuation of non-essential personnel from the process block at it 238,600 barrel-per-day Joliet, Illinois refinery.
The incident on Thursday resulted in excessive hydrogen cyanide emissions, Exxon said in a filing with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
"No onsite personnel have been evacuated," the filing said.
