US Cash Grains-Corn, soybean basis flat at elevators

CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for soybeans and corn held steady at elevators across the US Midwest on Friday, grain dealers said.

The corn basis was steady to weak at processors and weak at ethanol plants around the region.

Processor bids for soybeans were mostly unchanged but firmed by 2 cents per bushel in Decatur, Indiana.

At river terminals, corn bids were narrowly mixed and soybean bids were steady to weak.

Country movement of both commodities was slow on Friday morning.

Growers had bullish expectations about the market and were willing to hold out and see if prices rally in the coming weeks, a dealer in northern Ohio said.
