Start-up aims to 3D-print one customized pill containing all your prescriptions
A new pharmaceutical firm is looking forward to incorporate a new kind of technology to make personalized smart pill that consists of all the medicines a person needs in just one pill.
A start-up of personalized pharmaceutical products form named Multiply Labs have said that it plans to create a single 3D-printed ‘daily capsule tailored around the needs of each patient’, enabling them to get rid of taking various pills for various things.
As per Futurism, having to take multiple times can at times make it difficult to follow prescriptions. Moreover, there are times when exact dosage of a specific medicine does not exist, hence doctors have to prescribe two pills.
Smart cancer pills track patients with tiny sensors in their medicines
Multiply Labs specially created a robot-created, 3D-printed pill that incorporates several compartments, one for each of the prescribed drug, and each of them behave like a separate pill. By varying the thickness of the compartments’ walls, the pill will be able to release and dissolve drugs at exactly the right time.
The 3D-printing technique could further help mass manufacture the pills. CEO Fred Parietti wrote in the post on Medium that the firm is really efficient in creating and filling each patient’s capsules on-demand and the order of the personalized pill is also completed within minutes.
Furthermore, Parietti wrote that they foresee a future where patients with complex, chronic diseases can get rid of taking numerous pills every single day.
