Spain's public deficit, including the central government, social security system and regions, but not including town halls, was 1.34% of gross domestic product in the first five months of the year, the budget ministry said on Tuesday.
The number came in above the 0.57% published a month earlier for January-April.
Spain's public deficit target for 2019 is 2.4%, as per goals set by the Bank of Spain in June.
