Wasim Khan hopes to woo MCC committee to send team for Pakistan tour
During his meeting with the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) World Cricket Committee in coming days in England, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Managing Director Wasim Khan hopes to persuade the committee to send a MCC team to tour Pakistan.
The MD said that he will be presenting before the MCC World Cricket Committee on August 9. “Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting, Brendon McCullum and Kumar Sangakkara..these guys have asked me to present for two reasons. One is to try and open India-Pakistan ties again. They want to use it as a lobby group, so I have to present on security and our vision," Khan added.
“Secondly, I've approached them about sending a MCC team to tour here [Pakistan], they're big around the world,” he added, while talking to local media.
The PCB MD further said that heads of the Australian, England and Sri Lankan cricket boards would be visiting the country as PCB aims to bring international cricket back to Pakistan. “Cricket Australia's CEO and Chairman are coming for a visit in September. We will show them our security plans. The England Cricket Board CEO is coming in October. Sri Lanka's entourage is coming over in the next two weeks with the head of security, the chairman. This is how far we've reached."
