CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were mostly unchanged at interior processors and elevators around the US Midwest early on Monday, grain dealers said.
* The corn basis was mostly flat at ethanol plants too.
* But corn bids were mixed at river terminals, easing in Davenport, Iowa, and rising in Savanna, Illinois.
* River bids for soybeans were steady to firm, rising by 14 cents per bushel in Savanna.
* Farmer sales were slow, an Iowa dealer said.
* Cash prices were languishing below grower targets.
* At current prices, most growers who still had old-crop supplies in storage bins were content to hold on to their crops until they needed to make room for new-crop supplies when harvest starts, dealers said.
* Dealers continued to roll their soybean basis bids to the Chicago Board of Trade November soybean futures contract from the August contract. The August contract is in delivery and expires on Aug. 14.
