BUCHAREST: Romania's central bank kept its annual inflation forecast for this year unchanged at 4.2pc but upped the 2020, figure to 3.4pc from 3.3pc, Governor Mugur Isarescu said on Thursday, stressing that inflation in the medium term is under control.
Isarescu told a news conference to present the quarterly inflation report the external factors were not favourable. He said the monetary authority "was ready to act if needed," and the approach to policy will be step-by-step.
The bank has a 1.5-3.5pc inflation target range.
