CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for soybeans and corn held steady at interior elevators around the US Midwest early on Monday.
At processors, bids for corn were steady to firm and bids for soybeans were steady to weak.
The basis for both commodities was strong at river terminals.
Farmer sales were slow on Monday morning.
Growers' interest in booking new deals for both corn and soybeans has been light since the US Agriculture Department last week forecast bigger-than-expected harvests, sending futures markets sharply lower, a northern Ohio dealer said.
