All-new Android 10 rolled out with interesting new updates

Google has introduced its all-new updated version of Android operating system, the Android 10 with amazing new features and updates, and has already started rolling it out for its Pixel phones.

Tech giant Google rolled out its new Android 10 mobile OS version to its Google Pixel smartphones including the original Pixel, Pixel 2, and Pixel 3 devices, with other devices to be upgraded later this year.

Android 10 comes in with numerous new features, including ‘Smart Reply’ that provides user with shortcuts to apps, and also new swipe gestures. There is also a ‘Live Caption’ feature that automatically adds text captions to the videos, podcasts and audio messages without requiring internet.

Moreover, a new app called ‘Sound Amplifier’ has been added that helps boost sound the user wishes to hear and filter out the background noise. Also, the photos can now be saved in the HEIF format that uses up less space, and the results are the same as the JPEG format.

There is another ‘Focus Mode’ that enables user to temporarily pause apps that might distract them when they are trying to do something else. Android 10 also features ‘Dark Theme’, a system-wide dark mode that makes the screen more comfortable for the eyes and easier for the phone’s battery.

Notifications can also be marked as ‘Silent’ to stop them from making noise or appearing on the lockscreen, so that the user is only alerted by notifications they want. ‘Family Link’ feature helps parents set digital ground rules such as daily screen time limit, or reviewing the apps installed by children.

Google has also taken steps on securing privacy and making it easier on Android 10. There will be a designated place for privacy in settings where everything related privacy will be found in one place, including app permissions, personal data and account activity. Also, the user will be in control of how various apps access location data. Phones running on Android 10 will also receive latest security updates similar to an app update, which makes it quicker and easier for users to download them.

“There’s lots more in Android 10, including a new enterprise feature, app timers for specific websites, new gender-inclusive emoji, and support for direct audio streaming to hearing aid devices,” wrote Google.
