Social media user tells horrific story of rescue 1122's callousness in face of extreme emergency

  • Khan and wife had to take their daughter to hospital themselves.
  • Complaint department said Rescue 1122 cannot guide people on phone how to revive a choking child, Khan said.

A couple in Lahore took matters into their own hands and shifted their two-year-old daughter to a hospital after Rescue 1122 failed to provide them with CPR procedure.

On Monday, Ammad Ali Khan woke up at night to find his daughter Manha choking in her sleep. He started performing CPR while his wife called Rescue 1122. The guy was the least bit interested in hearing her out probably he was sleeping and we disturbed him, Khan said.

On asking to be provided with an ambulance, the official replied that the parents must send someone to Doctors Hospital to guide the ambulance to their place. However, when the mother requested the officials to give them the contact number of the driver, she was met with ‘we do not have the number of the drivers’.

Left with no option, the parents rushed their daughter to the hospital who is now in safe condition. On their way to the hospital, Rescue 1122 called them and asked if they needed an ambulance. “I told the guy, we are going to hospital and what kind of rescue service is this when you cannot reach us or handle the emergency on which he rudely replied ‘do you still want the ambulance or not? I said no,” Khan told Business Recorder.

Following the horrible incident, Khan lodged a complaint to which he was told that Rescue 1122 cannot guide people on phone how to revive a choking child. Khan further said that he is a tax payer and he will go to any extend to show them how the rescue services should act.

“My concern is they could have asked us about the kids condition and guided us about the CPR or revival. We trained ourselves for such situation but God forbid in that scenario if the parents could not be able to revive , they can lose their kid every second matters in such situation,” Khan told Business Recorder.
