Junaid Khan reveals he was offered Bollywood film ‘Aashiqui 2’

• Junaid Khan claim he was offered lead role in 'Aashiqui 2' performed by Aditya Roy Kapoor.
• Pakistani actor Imran Abbas also previously claimed he was offered the same role.

Pakistani singer-turned- actor Junaid Khan revealed in a recent interview that he was offered the lead role in Bollywood hit film ‘Aashiqui 2’.

He appeared on Shaista Lodhi’s digital show where the host asked him whether he was offered the role across the border. The actor replied, “I was asked about it, definitely. At that point, two to three actors from Pakistan were also asked [to do the role]”.

He further added, “Mahesh Bhatt’s film production company threw an online competition that ‘who is going to be the next Aashiqui star’. Their point was to find a relatively new face from Pakistan who is not known in India but has some experience in acting and is a musician. So, at that time I was approached for it including some other actors from Pakistan”.

Earlier, Pakistan actor Imran Abbas claimed that he was approached for the same role. A report published by the Business of Cinema said that the makers of Aashiqui 2 had first approached Abbas for the lead character, which was later played by Indian actor Aditya Roy Kapoor.
