Governor Punjab Ch. Mohammad Sarwar called on President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi here Wednesday and discussed political and other important issues. In the meeting which held here at the Governor's House, Ch. Sarwar also apprised the president about state of affairs in Punjab, sources said.
Talking to Commissioner, Overseas Pakistani Commission Punjab (OPC), Javed Iqbal, General Secretary Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Dr Hamayun Pervaiz and others, the Governor said: "We have defeated India on every front and India will face humiliation for lobbying against Pakistan in FATF." Pakistani political and military leadership's China visit is successful from every aspect and the IInd phase of CPEC will bring more development and prosperity in Pakistan, he said.
The Governor said that the PTI government under PM Imran Khan Leadership is taking steps for economic stability, poverty alleviation, price control and provision of basic facilities to public. "We will not let opposition succeed in its attempts to mislead the public and Pakistan will continue its journey towards stability, economic growth and development," he said, adding: "Pakistan's political and military leadership diligently fought for Kashmir case which India couldn't digest and is conspiring and lobbying against Pakistan in FATF but we defeated India on every front."
Moreover, wife of Governor Punjab Begum Perveen Sarwar, along with Samina Alvi, the wife of President of Pakistan attended seminars regarding "Breast Cancer" awareness in Governor House and Home Economic College Lahore. While speaking at seminars and later with media persons, Begum Perveen Sarwar said that women should start breast cancer treatment instead of hiding this disease with fear of shame and social stigma because breast cancer cure is possible through early diagnosis and treatment.
She said that breast cancer awareness campaign has been started in Punjab including Lahore city. Samina Alvi said that breast cancer cure is available, immediate treatment must be started after diagnosis without any delay. "One month is not sufficient for awareness campaign, this campaign should be run throughout the year," she added.
