The incidents of various kinds of crimes witnessed an upward trend as over eight cases of car lifting, seven cases of different thefts and three cases of kidnapping were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, most 'favorite' areas for the criminals were within the limits of Golra, Koral and Industrial Area police stations.
During the last week, Golra police station registered two cases of robbery and one case of kidnapping. One Muhammad Nawaz informed Golra police station that unknown persons have kidnapped his daughter. In another incident, one citizen Ghulam Murtaza informed Golra police station that one Waseem along with others allegedly stole his three goats valuing Rs 80,000. One Aziz Naveed informed Golra police station that unknown robbers stole a laptop, prize bonds, cash and other valuables valuing Rs 1,000,000 from his house. Another Musarrat Bibi informed Golra police station that accused Ashiq along with five others have allegedly kidnapped his daughter.
During the last week, Koral police station registered two cases of auto lifting and one case of robbery. One victim Saleem filed a complaint with Koral police station that some unknown robbers stole an LED, mobile phone, cash and gold ornaments valuing Rs 300,000 from his house.
Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number RIL-3786 of one Sarfraz Ahmed valuing Rs 95,000 and lifted another bike bearing registration number ALN-986 valuing Rs 80,000. Industrial Area police station registered two cases of auto theft. The motor vehicle thieves stole a car bearing registration number LEI-3379 of a citizen namely Muhammad Gull valuing Rs 150,000 and lifted a bike bearing RIO-5780 of another Nauman Saleem valuing Rs 100,000. In the same period, Shalimar, Women, Bhara Kahu and Khanna police stations registered one case each of robbery while Ramna and Sihala police stations registered one case each of auto theft.
