YOKOHAMA: Japan made history on Sunday by making their first ever Rugby World Cup quarter-final, weathering a ferocious comeback to beat Scotland 28-21 in a thrilling game in Yokohama.
Tries either side of half-time by electric Japanese winger Kenki Fukuoka gave the hosts a 28-7 lead. Scotland came roaring back but Japan clung on to top Pool A and set up a quarter-final clash with South Africa.
