  • On her first day of the royal tour, the Duchess wore a dress by Pakistani designer Maheen Khan.
  • Kate’s choice of attire on her arrival echoed Princess Diana's style when she visited Pakistan in 1996.

After their arrival in Pakistan last night, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out early Tuesday morning to visit a local school in Islamabad, officially beginning their royal tour.

The royal couple, Kate and Prince William, visited Government Girls High School, University Colony in Islamabad to meet children. The Duchess was seen wearing a Pakistani traditional blue kurta with straight pants, which is by Pakistani designer Maheen Khan.

According to media reports, the royal couple will be meeting children from three local schools in Islamabad, followed by their meeting with President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan later on in the day.

On Monday night when Kate touched down on Pakistani soil along with husband Prince William, she was seen wearing ombré turquoise dress and pants by designer Catherine Walker, along with cream-colored high heels. She paired the look with earrings from Pakistani brand Zeen, which is the second time she chose her accessories from.

Kate’s choice of attire is being compared with Princess Diana’s traditional wear and style when she visited Pakistan in 1996.
