Pakistani celebs meet the royal couple at a glittering reception in Islamabad

• The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in style at the star-studded reception at Pakistan Monument.
• Many prominent Pakistani personalities met the royal couple at the event on Tuesday night.

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, made a unique and a traditional entry in a specially painted rickshaw for their reception at Pakistan Monument on Tuesday night, which was attended by many Pakistani celebrities and politicians.

The event, hosted by the British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew, was a starry affair with many big names from Pakistan’s entertainment industry, who welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

William was seen wearing a traditional attire for the first time since his arrival. He donned a teal sherwani by Nauman Arfeen of Naushemian while Kate wore a green embellished Jenny Packham gown.

Many prominent Pakistani personalities were present at the event. Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, cricketer Wasim Akram with his wife Shaniera Akram, Muhammad Hafeez, actors Mahira Khan, Imran Abbas, Mehwish Hayat, Hareem Farooq, Shaan Shahid, Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly, singers Atif Aslam, Shehzad Roy and Momina Mustehsan, designers Maheen Khan and Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) were among the many others prominent faces at the event.

It was a privilege and an honor to have been one of the few to be introduced to Prince William and Princess Kate. They were incredibly kind, elegant and so very gracious. It was an honour to meet with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. While we discussed the work @zindagitrust has done in regards to child protection , I was sincerely glad to hear him emphasise on the importance of mental health and its access to all and sundry
