Royal couple to visit National Cricket Academy in Lahore today
- Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will meet cricket stars during their visit to NCA.
- The couple will land in Lahore today on the fourth day of their Pakistan tour.
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate, will visit the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Lahore today as part of their visit to Pakistan's cultural capital Lahore.
Britian’s Prince William and Kate are on a historic visit of Pakistan these days and will visit the Pakistan Cricket Board's state of the art National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
As per reports, the royal couple will be meeting several well known Pakistani international cricketers in Lahore today including Hasan Ali, Azhar Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sana Mir and bowling coach Waqar Younis. The couple would also attend a cricket showcase at the NCA and try their hand at the game as well.
The NCA, which is adjacent to the historic Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for the national cricket team, women cricketers and young players. The historical pictures of Pakistan cricket are also displayed on all the passages of the NCA, including the memories Pakistan team’s visit to the UK.
In his first official speech delivered during the reception held on Tuesday at the Pakistan National Monument in Islamabad hosted by the British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, paid tribute to all those who endured sacrifice and helped build Pakistan to the country it is today.
He also spoke of the unique bonds between the two countries and that Pakistan can rely on UK to keep playing an important role as a key partner and a friend. “Whether it's this generation or the next, I know that the UK and Pakistan will continue to exemplify the very best in international cooperation," William said.
