Tom Hardy and Tom Holland might be facing off on the big screen as Venom and Spider-Man crossover is in works, revealed by ‘Venom’ director Ruben Fleischer.
Fleischer, director of 2018’s Venom, has opened up about a potential future path for Hardy’s anti-hero film, one that could involve a possible crossover with Holland’s Spider-Man.
“That’s where it’s all going to lead,” Fleischer tells Fandom. “And that’s the exciting thing, because we changed the origin of Venom. In the comics, he evolved from Spider-Man but because of the Marvel-Sony thing we weren’t able to that. And so the thing I think it’s building towards, and will be exciting to see, is when they actually do confront each other.”
In 2015, Sony struck a deal with Marvel Studios that allowed Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the studio has also worked to put the film rights for their other Marvel characters to work as well.
Venom is Sony’s first Marvel villain movie. It will be exciting to see Spider-man facing off Venom in the new film.
