The Met Office has forecast above normal rainfall for Sindh but smog with a variable intensity is likely to engulf plains during this month.
In a monthly outlook for Pakistan, it said that slightly below normal rain may fall in the central parts while normal in the upcountry during current month. It said that one spell of light to moderate rainfall over northern and central parts during the third week.
"Global Climate indicator such as El-Nino Southern Oscillation is expected to remain in neutral phase while Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is expected to remain in positive phase during October, 2019.
On the basis of prevailing global atmospheric and ocean conditions," the Met said.
In the next 24 hours: Heatwave is likely to continue in Karachi with temperature ranging up to 38 degrees Celsius and 80 percent humidity.
