Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has designated Naveed Illahi, Secretary Customs, as Project Director of 'Pakistan Customs Strategic Plan 2019-2024' (PCSP 2019-24) with immediate effect. The FBR issued notification here on Friday.
According to sources, the effective implementation of this five-year plan will not only ensure organisational development but will also be instrumental in cost reduction of doing business. The deployment of information and communication technology, artificial intelligence and modern management techniques are essential for trade facilitation and effective enforcement of laws and rules.
The progress achieved at national level consists of re-organization of the appraisement and enforcement streams on professional lines. Accordingly, new field formations/collectorates relating to these streams have been established across the country. Human Resource has accordingly been deployed at these formations on need basis.
