Senior journalist and founder of the Daily Aaj, Abdul Wahid Yusfi was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard here on Saturday.
A large number of people including provincial ministers, government officials, local elites and journalists attended his funeral prayers.
Prominent those who attended his funeral prayers were included KP Information Minister Shaukat Yusufzai, former deputy speaker National Assembly Ghulam Murtaza Abbasi, Senator Farhatullah Babar, former senator Haji Ghulam Ali, Major Mohammad Aamir (retd), Ghulam Sarwar Mohmand and former principal information officer of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Shabir Anwar.
Late Abdul Wahid Yusfi started journalistic career as a reporter of Urdu newspaper 'Daily Anjum' in 1959-60 and from 1967 to 1994-95 remained associated with then National Press Trust (NPT) operated Daily Mashriq in different capacities including reporter, chief reporter, deputy resident editor, and resident editor.
He was also a founding member of Peshawar Press Club (PPC). In connections with journalistic responsibilities, late Abdul Wahid Yusfi had visited different countries including Iran, Afghanistan, United States, Britain, Germany and several other European countries.
