The Evercare Hospital Lahore (EHL) is offering free mammography and free check up for women at hospital from October 19 to 30, which is a part of effort to raise awareness about breast cancer.
EHL is collaborating with Pink Ribbon, NGO working cancer, to help raise awareness about breast cancer in Pakistan. With the nation having one of the highest incidences of breast cancer in South Asia, one in nine women is at risk. As a result, breast cancer can be attributed to 40,000 deaths among women every year. About 77 percent of invasive breast cancer cases occur in women above the age of 50, however if it is diagnosed early the survival rates improve significantly.
EHL is one of the few full-suite tertiary care facilities in Lahore, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and led by an experienced management team with both local and international experience.
"At Evercare, we are a socially responsible organization that believes in giving back to the community. As a healthcare organization especially, we believe that it is our responsibility to raise awareness around this serious issue.
And through our involvement, we know we can help make a difference in the lives of so many women," said Andrew Currie, Chief Operating Officer of Evercare here on Saturday.
