The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to hold weekly meetings with exporters and representatives of ministries of commerce, industries and textile to resolve the tax-related issues of exporters, particularly refunds, in the post- withdrawal of SRO 1125 scenario.

It is learnt that the exporters from Karachi, Faisalabad, Sailkot and other parts of the country would participate in the meeting.

Under the plan, the FBR has decided to hold weekly consultation meetings with relevant ministries and exporters till the problem of release of refunds is resolved.

The FBR has asked the exporters to meet the tax authorities on Monday next along with their IT experts and they would sit with PRAL team to find out solution to the problem for filing of returns and making claims for getting sales tax refunds through FASTER software.

The FBR has also informed about this initiative to Adviser to PM on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood and the Chairman Board of Investment and both had promised to attend weekly meetings in order to find out solution of refunds-related problems.
