The federal cabinet which is scheduled to meet on Tuesday (today) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair will discuss the current political situation in the country in light of the opposition's Azadi March, being led by Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehmahn, Ameer Jamiat -e-Ulama-e Islam (F). Minister for Interior Brig Ijaz Shah (retired) will brief the Cabinet about the security arrangements in place to deal with the marchers in Islamabad.

The government's negotiation committee's chief Defence Minister Pervez Khattak is expected to take cabinet colleagues into confidence with respect to deliberations with the opposition and government allies particularly PML (Q) which expressed its reservations with the government's failure to fulfil its commitments. The issue of wheat crisis in KP and Sindh is also likely to come under discussion and the federal government has allocated about 0.3 million tons of wheat from Passco to deal with the crisis.

Establishment Division will submit a report on existing vacancies of CEOs/ MDs in Ministries/Division and their attached departments.

The other regular agenda items will be as follows: (i) high rise constructions in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Multan; (ii) delegation of powers, amendments in Civil Aviation Rules, 1994; (iii) transfer of federal governments' artist's welfare fund from Cabinet Division to Information and Broadcasting Division; (iv) approval of federal government in respect of inclusion of Minister for Economic Affairs Division as Member National Executive (NEC) and Directorate General Military Operations and Director General (c) ISA as member of General Committee (GC) under section 5&5 (4) of AML Act, 2010; (v) approval for pay package for the post of Director General, Central Directorate of National Savings; (vi) federal government nominations pertaining to the PVMC Council members for 6th term (October 8, 2018 to October 7, 2022) under section 3(d) of PVMC Act 1996; (vii) approval of draft Islamabad Health Facilities Management Act, 2019; (xiii) re-constitution of the Board of Directors (BoD) of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SGCL); (ix) reconstructing of BoD of Pakistan LNG limited (PLL); ( x) restructuring of BoD of Government Holding (Pvt) Limited (GHPL); (xi) termination of contract of Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director, Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL); and (xi) grant of management position (MP-1) scale to Dr. Aamer Ahmed, Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
