The FWO's 52-years-old Journey is full of innovations and expertise in the domain of construction and development of the country. The foundation of this organization was not less than a challenge; however, FWO's ancestors, through their hard work, dedication and commitment, brought to light a candle that illuminated Pakistan's future with many paths and destinations. From the completion of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) to the construction of the China - Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) today, all the milestones that FWO has set out to demonstrate on the horizon of development of the nation, are the hard work and abilities of the organization's dedicated workers.
Today, the FWO as a great construction company is engaged in the construction and completion of a number of important development projects across the dimensions of the country. Even in unfavorable situations, FWO has continued its mission. FWO's signatures are on many projects, including roads, dams, canals, barrages, tunnels, railways, flyovers, airports, airfields and mining elaborating company's imprints from Gwadar to Khunjrab and overseas as well.
When FWO launched development works in FATA a few years ago, it was then considered one of the most dangerous areas in the world. FWO's successful strategy followed by professionalism and patriotism faced all challenges with full determination and completed mega projects famously including Gomal Zam Dam, a 751 meter long Nahakki Tunnel, 674 km long highways and several other power and water projects well before stipulated time. Surely, one can't ignore FWO's services along with sacrifices of Pakistan's armed forces in restoring peace back to FATA and remote areas of the country. The remote areas of Balochistan were also troubled like FATA. In view of the dangers posed by Balochistan's grand plans, the Government of Pakistan entrusted FWO with important projects such as, an important highway, connecting Gwadar, Quetta and Chaman and Indus Highway. All these projects have been completed with the grace of Allah Almighty and Gwadar's dream of direct contraction with other parts of the country and the Central Asian States has come to reality.
In addition to construction and development works, FWO has always played a significant role in the recovery and rehabilitation in results of natural disasters. Whether it is Earthquake of October 2005, Gyari Sector Incident, Atabad Land Sliding or havoc floods caused by sullen rains, FWO's protagonist initiatives are not impecunious of words or letters. FWO not only honors homeland but also globally, has executed many projects worldwide to showcase company's skills and abilities.
The company has also made a new chapter by introducing the BOT system in the field of constructive and development. Under this system, Lahore-Islamabad Motorway, Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway, Swat Motorway, Karachi-Thatta Dual Carriageway and Lahore Ring Road have been completed while projects like Lahore-Sialkot Motorway are being constructed on modern lines. The scope of this system is not limited to the construction of roads and motorways, but also in industrial areas like CPEC City, Oil Village, Hydel Power, Cement Plant, Oil Refineries, Residential Schemes, Energy and Oil Plants, Tourist spots and renovation of Service Areas along motorways and national highways. Undoubtedly FWO is currently the largest construction company of the country.
This year, FWO has achieved another marvelous job by constructing Kartarpur Corridor allied by renovation of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur Pakistan, in a record period of short time. FWO has astounded the entire world by accomplishing two years' task in just eight months. Accomplishing such gigantic and important task in record short epoch is not less than a miracle which is definitely a momentum to understand FWO's professional approach.
FWO has the distinction to be declared Best Infrastructure Development Company of Pakistan for the year in 2016 during "29th RCCI International Achievement Award 2016" held in Dubai. While at Turkey, FWO was awarded for "Fastest Growing Company of the Year 2017".
During their line of duty, more than 1300 Officers, JCOs, Jawan and workers of FWO have sacrificed their lives for motherland. The people of Pakistan will always be proud of their motivation and sacrifices. They should be paid rich tribute during today's historic occasion. The nation should also pay rich tributes to all those who worked restlessly and motivatedly to uphold holy motto of the organization "Sustaining Excellence" up to the mark.
