Industrial works, like steel manufacturing, are usually associated with lots of air pollution and energy consumption. What most people don't associate steel rebars and their manufacturing process with, is that it is an environment friendly process.

Amreli Steels is an eco-friendly company and understands that the choices an organization makes every day can lead to a cleaner and more environment friendly future. This is why the company is constantly looking for ways to have a positive environmental impact and to use the resources more responsibly.

Here are 5 things you probably don't know about Amreli Steels and steel manufacturing in general.

1. Amreli Steels is One of Pakistan's Biggest Recyclers

Because of its unique properties, it is easy to remove steel from waste streams. This process of removing steel does not downgrade the metal and it can be recycled to make steel products again. Amreli Steels takes the process of recycling a step further and refines the metal to produce the highest quality of steel.

This makes steel the most recycled building material in the world. In fact, forty-two percent (42%) of the world's crude steel is produced from recycled material. This is also what makes Amreli Steels one of the largest recyclers in Pakistan.

2. 100% of the Water Used for Manufacturing is Recycled

Steel production requires a lot of water, mainly for cooling purposes. In a water-stressed country like Pakistan, this can be a problem.

However, Amreli Steels takes pride in the fact that they have made great efforts to ensure that all of the water used during the manufacturing process is recycled by a state-of-the-art treatment plant, without compromising the quality of the product and processes.

3. Ensures Safe Disposal of Dust & Fumes

There is a common perception that steel manufacturing leads to air pollution. It would be highly polluting to the environment, if a manufacturer did not take the necessary precautions. Amreli Steels' plant has installed a PLC-based APC (Air Pollution Controller). It does exactly what it says and reduces the carbon footprint by capturing fumes and dust for safe disposal, instead of releasing them in the air.

4. Amreli Steels Generates Less CO2 per Ton of Steel

As an industry, steel-making has been moving towards energy-efficiency. In fact, since 1960, the amount of energy required to produce one ton of steel has been reduced by more than 60%. Amreli Steels understands the importance of energy conservation and takes prides in the fact that per ton of steel, Amreli generates less CO2 than a regular Pakistani steel manufacturer.

5. Cutting Edge Technology Helps Minimize Waste

As a leading player in Pakistan's steel industry, Amreli Steels employs cutting edge technology. The company was quick to adopt the 5th generation red ring technology at its plant, which improves product quality and yield. The improved yield means a reduction in waste.

As the world's population grows, the pressure on earth's natural resources also continues to grow. In such a scenario, the world is counting on companies like Amreli Steels to make sustainable choices every day. That's why Amreli Steels stays abreast of global advances in the steel manufacturing process and constantly looks for ways to be responsible in its use of energy, water and other resources.
