President Dr Arif Alvi meets Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, here at Governor's House and discussed matters concerning development strategy in Punjab and matters of mutual interest.

The country's current political situation and the government's affairs came under discussion, the sources said.

The Punjab Governor and Chief Minister briefed the President about public welfare projects and other steps taken by the government to facilitate the common man.

Talking on the occasion, President Arif Alvi said that PTI's government was working day and night for welfare of the people and to steer the country out of all crises including economic.

He stressed the need for national unity and solidarity to address current prevailing situation in the region including Kashmir issue and said that those who wanted to create unrest in the country would be failed.

Moreover, talking to representatives of PTI from various districts including MNA Riaz Fatyana and MPA Sadia Sohail, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the purpose of opposition's protest was to take revenge from the people of their defeat in last general elections. He said that opposition's criticism on national institutions including Pak Army has exposed their agenda, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan would never tender resignation as he was elected by the people of Pakistan.

The Governor said that opposition has violated the terms of agreement after announcement of sit-in but the government still wanted to resolve the matters through dialogue. He said that the PTI government believed in supremacy of law and the Constitution, accountability and welfare of the people.

On the other hand, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday said that demanding resignation from an elected Prime Minister is unconstitutional and unlawful.

Usman Buzdar said in a statement that no sane person can support Azadi March; the rejected elements do not want Pakistan to make progress but their negative agenda will fail. Those who are doing politics on non-issues should be ashamed of themselves, he added.
