The government and the Rahbar Committee have decided to hold another round of talks on Tuesday (today) on Azadi March.

Talking to media persons here on Monday after holding a meeting with the government-led negotiating committee headed by Minister for Defense Pervez Khattak, Rahbar Committee head Akram Durrani said that another meeting is to be held on Tuesday (today) at his residence in the afternoon to further discuss the matters pertaining to Azadi March with the government committee.

Following the session, Pervez Khattak talking to media persons said that first round of talks seemed successful. "We hope that it will bear good results," he added.

Durrani said that the party's next plan of action could be to block the highways and lockdown the entire country in case the government does not pay any heed to their demands.

"I have presented my suggestions to the Rahbar Committee," he said, adding the Rahbar Committee will then make the final decision about the party's future actions. "We will even start the Jail Bharo Tehreek [movement to fill up the country's prisons]," he added.

The JUI-F is yet to announce its next move as the deadline it gave to Prime Minister Imran Khan to step down has passed.

Separately, a meeting of the Rahbar Committee was held on Monday in which members of the opposition parties mulled over what to do next. The meeting participants discussed the future line of action of the march.

The government's negotiating committee is meeting the opposition's Rahbar Committee at JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman's residence to discuss the Azadi March.

Separately, Maulana Abdul Wasay of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal said all JUI-F members of the National Assembly have submitted their resignations to party chief Fazlur Rehman.

According to sources the resignations will remain with the JUI-F chief and will be used if required according to the party's strategy.
