PM directs CDA chairman to provide relief to Azadi March participants after rains turn Islamabad cold

• Met office has predicted widespread rain in Islamabad from today till Friday.
• Thousands of protesters have converged in Islamabad demanding that Imran Khan resign.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed on Wednesday Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman to immediately visit the sit-in in Islamabad and assess what assistance can be provided to the participants of the Azadi March following the rain on Tuesday night.

The premier took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "I have directed the CDA Chairman to immediately visit the dharna site to assess what relief and assistance can be provided to the dharna participants with the onset of rain and changing weather conditions."

Following the PM's orders, the relief teams have been providing first aid to the Azadi March participants.

The weather in the capital city has cooled down after rains and thunderstorm intensified on Tuesday. The protesters, however, refused to let rain or the biting cold dampen their resolve and are still adamant that their demand be met. Thousands of protesters have converged in the capital under the banner of the Azadi March, demanding that the prime minister resign.

Meanwhile, the MET office has predicted widespread rain and wind- thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills in Islamabad from Tuesday to Friday.
