LUCKNOW: West Indies beat Afghanistan by seven wickets in the first one-day international in Lucknow on Wednesday to lead the three-match series 1-0.
Shai Hope, who made an unbeaten 77, and Roston Chase, who hit 94, put on a crucial 163-run stand for the third wicket as the West Indies reached their target of 195 in 46.3 overs.
Chase, who fell six runs short of what would have been his maiden ODI century, also took two wickets with his off spin to help dismiss Afghanistan for 194. The second ODI is on Saturday.
