Two fire tenders took part to extinguish the inferno. The fire was controlled after hours-long effort.

They said similar fire incident took place at the same side a couple of years back.

An official, who wished not to be named, said the 'design hall' of the office also got affected by the blaze. He said General Manager (GM) has convened an emergency meeting of the officials concerned over the incident. Investigations have also been initiated to ascertain the cause. He said the extent of damage caused by the fire could not be ascertained till filing of the report. "No one has been injured," he said.

Meanwhile, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of PTV Shakeel when approached on phone responded that he was unaware of the incident, astonishingly, and refused to comment on the incident, saying he was on leave.

Footages of the fire incident circulating on sections of social media and some websites showed the clouds of thick black smoke billowing from the fire at the office.
