Daraz Gyara Gyara - the biggest online sale event of the year - is live now and the platform is offering discounts worth Rs 5 crore on an assortment of 8 million products.

During last year’s sale, more than 3 million customers shopped from Daraz during the 5-day sale and had access to over 3 million products. Daraz witnessed an 80x increase in orders as compared to non-sale days. This year’s sale is expected to be much bigger. Daraz is prepared to serve an expected 10 million visitors on the app over the next five days and taken all measures necessary to ensure swift fulfillment of all Gyara Gyara orders. The company has invested significantly in building a robust logistics infrastructure for this purpose.

A year ago, the platform launched Daraz Express (DEX) - Pakistan’s first logistics company specifically designed for ecommerce operations. Today, DEX employs 1,000 DEX Heroes (delivery agents) to conduct deliveries across the country throughout the year. As part of the preparations for the Gyara Gyara sale, DEX hired 3,000 additional DEX Heroes. By launching the logistics company, Daraz has already been able to reduce delivery time by 1-2 days and, by hiring thousands of new delivery agents Daraz will be further decreasing the time it takes for customers to receive their orders.

Furthermore, to manage thousands of orders expected to come in over the next few days, Daraz has further automated its 4 warehouses. These warehouses are located in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Together they cover a space of 200,000sq feet and house 30% of the platform’s top selling products. Conveyor belts have been installed at the facility in Karachi to optimise the space, increase productivity by 20% and ensure swifter fulfilment of orders.

Just in time for the Gyara Gyara sale, the platform also launched Daraz Pick Up Points so that customers can collect their prepaid orders from a location closest to them at a time that is most suitable. The service is available at 45 Daraz Hubs in 19 major cities and 10 Dukaans in Karachi.
