Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that real problem in the region is India as the country is in the grip of an extremist racist ideology that considers other nations inferior.
Addressing the concluding session of Margalla Dialogue titled 'Peace and Development in South Asia, Middle East, Central Asia (SAMECA),' organized by Islamabad Policy Research Institute, Khan said that problem is India.
The Prime Minister said, "Pakistan tried its best to mend fences with India by trying everything but unfortunately India is in the grip of an extremist ideology and what is happening in India is now tragic."
He said that India has been taken over by a racist ideology which believes in racial superiority and hates other nations. The Prime Minister said that this ideology would eventually lead to destruction and India would suffer in the long-run.
"Pakistan is not out of danger zone because of Kashmir while the Modi government in Kashmir has entered into a blind alley and over 100 days Kashmiris have been living in curfew and all the liberties have taken away from them," he said.
The Prime Minister said that it is important to portray Pakistan's point of view abroad and one main lesson Pakistan has learnt from the foreign policy over the four decades is that it should not be a part of any country to fight a war. He said that Pakistan has lost far more than its gains by being a part of Afghan wars, and war on terror has been a disaster for Pakistan.
"We will be a bridge builder now and will try to play a role of conciliator between rival countries and no longer would be part of conflict," he said, He further said there are two countries Pakistan learnt from and these are China and US, adding look at infrastructure development in China compared to the US.
Khan maintained that that the US was supposed to win the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He said when the US was spending trillions of dollars on war, China was spending on infrastructure development. "We are opening lot of areas and at the same time trying to help neighborhood live in peace."
Pakistan has huge opportunities due to its geo-strategic location and the country will benefit from them by putting its house in order through ease of doing business and making easer for foreigners to come to Pakistan.
Imran Khan also mentioned that Pakistan is also making efforts to ensure that there is no conflict in the region and has contacted Iranian and Saudi leadership for peace between them. He said that the Saudi Arabia has always been a friend in need and he could not find words for their gratitude while Iran has also been a neighbor and friend.
