Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is expected to travel to London on Tuesday via an air ambulance. She said that the doctors conducted a thorough examination of Nawaz Sharif on Sunday and also held discussions on how to make the PML-N supremo ready for his travel.
She said that an air ambulance will arrive on Tuesday morning to transport Nawaz. The party's Twitter account issued a statement of the spokesperson on Sunday, urging the nation to pray for the PML-N supremo's health.
Marriyum said that Nawaz Sharif will initially be shifted to the UK where doctors will analyse his condition and decide if he would be treated there or moved to a different country.
She said the doctors are in consultation to adopt the best treatment to make Nawaz medically fit for the journey. She said they are in the process of administering high potency steroids to raise and stabilise his platelets count.
She further said that the doctors are also striving to keep his blood pressure, blood sugar and other vitals as close to normal as possible. Earlier, Nawaz's personal physician, Dr Adnan Khan also tweeted and said, "The former premier was scheduled to travel to London within 48 hours once he's clinically stabilised, made travel-worthy [and] is safe for air travel. He will make the journey in fully equipped and medically staffed air ambulance arriving soon."
The announcement comes a day after the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday allowed the former premier to travel abroad for four weeks for medical treatment, saying the duration could be extended based on medical reports.
