This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "Obvious signs of turnaround emerge: Hafeez" carried by the newspaper on Sunday. According to it, "Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh has said 'dark days are that behind us' as obvious signs of economic turnaround are emerging due to efforts of the present government for the revival of the economy."
Dr Hafeez Sheikh seems to have derived his confidence from improvement in certain economic indicators. But he is not much bothered about rising inflation and lower growth; that latter indicator shows that the prospects of new job opportunities are certainly not bright. Moreover, he appears to be always appearing casually calm and relaxed in his response to questions about increasing prices of essential items and tariffs of energy.
