He was addressing as a chief guest at the "LUMHS International Conference SKILLS TO CURE 2019" at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences Jamshoro today. More than thousand delegates attend the conference.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that he was delighted to see that so many esteemed guests and speakers around the globe were participating in this conference and it was an honour to have scientists from well renowned institutions of Europe, United States and Middle East to share their knowledge here. He said it was really amazing to observe the presence of such galaxy of scientists in this conference and lauded the efforts of the Vice Chancellor and his team for bringing such people to our county and added that the University deserves a huge appreciation for organizing such event.

He said that he was sure that the Conference will help to accomplish the goal of polishing clinical practice in order to provide best possible evidence based medicine to our ailing population,

"We do appreciate that the improvement in health sector was virtually impossible without having such events and promoting research", he said.

Addressing the participants of the conference, the VC LUMHS Prof Bikha Ram Devrajani expressed that it is truly an honour for us that we have renowned scientists from all around the globe here to attend the International Conference and share their high level scientific work. In recent years, we witnessed a significant increase of concern among the peoples of the world with health issues and with the conservation of treatment to cure of diseases, even so, we still have a long way to go, and only through a joint effort we will be able to reach at our fundamental goal. This Conference aims to bring together the best minds in the field of medical science both clinical & researchers to share and exchange the views, knowledge and expertise. The Conference is designed to deliver an emerging forum to critically examine evidence based strategies as well as contemporary best practices and clinical decision making to reach our common objective of improving patient care.

He added that today you will find some of the best minds in the world at our campus. Our exceptional academics create new knowledge, explain novel discoveries, make new policies, change the way we do teach, promote health values and help us to think critically to find alternative solutions to the pressing challenges of the future.

He further said that Health security is linked to political security and international relations. Investment in health represents real input into economic growth and global security. Investment on evidence based treatment, whether for cure or for palliation, improves the quality of care and quality of life of the individuals and their nearest ones.

Regarding the University's International Collaborations the VC informed that the University has strengthened the existing collaboration with Nottingham University England and we are glad that Prof Andrew Green is here today with us. We have now adjunct faculty from Nottingham to look after our research programmes and conduct joint research.
