Pakistan and Iran can increase their bilateral trade by strengthening the ties between the business communities of two countries and exchange of business delegations, Pakistan and Iranian businessmen noted here on Saturday.
Pakistani and Iranian businessmen held an interactive session at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) when Iranian trade delegation, headed by Ali Mohtasham Amiri visited the chamber. Agha Shahab Ahmed Khan, President KCCI talked about the historical trade ties between the two countries and said that business community of both countries can benefit from each others' success stories. He pointed out that full potential of bilateral trade can be realized so far due to certain impendent and noted that lack of banking channel is the biggest hurdle in this regard. He also spoke about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said that Iran has also shown interest in this project.
KCCI Chief said that visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Iran was also helpful to enhance the trade volume where the key issues came under discussion. He invited Iranian business community to come forward to benefit from the huge potential, Karachi offered to investors and said that improved law & order situation and CPEC has turned the city into a lucrative investment destination.
