The incidents of various kinds of theft, carjacking, murder, kidnapping and attempts of murder showed an increase in the federal capital during the current year, depriving citizens of valuables worth millions of rupees.
According to data collected by Business Recorder here on Saturday from different sources, during the last 10 months, 93 people have been killed in the limits of different police stations as a result of personal enmities and offering resistance during robberies.
In the same period, various police stations of the city registered 182 cases of murder attempts wherein over 280 people were injured. Over 447 people including women were kidnapped for ransom and rape from different localities of the city.
During the last 10 months, armed robbers, dacoits and mobile snatchers remained active in the city as over 550 cases of theft including armed robberies and housebreaking were reported to different police stations of the city.
Similarly, the incidents of car-lifting also registered an upward trend in various areas of the city, as motor vehicle thieves stole or snatched over 340 vehicles of different kinds and lifted or snatched over 420 motors from the jurisdictions of different police stations.
Meanwhile, during the last week, two cases each of robbery and one case of car-lifting were reported to Ramna police station. One citizen Tabssum Akhter informed Ramna police station that unknown persons stole cash and other valuables valuing Rs 500,000 from his house.
In another incident, one Muhammad Alyas filed a complaint with Ramna police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments and other valuables of worth Rs 2,800,000 from his house. The auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number AWN-567 of a citizen namely Muhammad Abubakker valuing Rs 100,000.
Tarnol police station registered one case each of kidnapping and robbery during the last week. One Siraj-ul-Haq filed a complaint with Tarnol police station that an accused Ajmal along with others kidnapped his brother Miraj-ul-Haq.
In another incident, one Majoon informed Tarnol police station that unidentified robbers stole foreign and local currency valuing Rs 23,000,000 from his house.
Another citizen namely Akhowand Abunasar filed a complaint with Shalimar police station that unknown people stole a laptop from his car.
