To eradicate violence against women from society, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has announced to replicate "Violence Against Women Centres" in all districts of the province through which the violence-stricken women would be able to get free-of-cost shelter and legal facilities.

The CM made this announcement while observing the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women here on Sunday. "Inflicting violence against women is an anti-humanity act. Violence on women is not only a social evil but also a legal offence. Injustice being done to any woman on the basis of gender bias amounts to cruelty," he remarked.

Talking about the possible solution, Buzdar expressed that such practices could be eradicated by empowering women and granting them equal rights. The religion of Islam has granted so many rights to women. It is among the top priority of the PTI government to make effective legislation in order to pre-empt violence on women, he added.

"To provide prompt justice and redressing grievances of the oppressed women, a state-of-the-art Violence Against Women Centre (VAWC) is working in Multan in which facilities of police, prosecution, medical and forensic are being provided under one roof," the CM said, adding that the scope of such centres will be expanded throughout Punjab.

He said the formulated policy will be implemented with regard to eliminating violence against women in "Naya Pakistan". The PTI government is sincere and determined to resolving problems of the violence-stricken women and the dream of "Naya Pakistan" cannot be fulfilled until complete eradication of violence against women, he emphasised.

As a responsible citizen of society, we have to perform our religious, social and moral responsibilities for preventing violence related incidents. Also, we should take effective steps for safeguarding the rights women in the society, concluded Buzdar.

Meanwhile, the CM strongly lambasted the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JU-F) for staging anti-government protest demonstrations across the country and said "those elements having A, B and C plans wanted to impede "stable progress" of Pakistan, but the patriotic people have shown them mirror.

Without naming the JUI-F, the chief minister said that those elements organizing marches and staging sit-ins had been discarded by the people during general elections and later on rejected completely. The nation failed their each and every "undemocratic design", he added.

"No A,B and C plan will work in Naya Pakistan," Buzdar expressed, adding that the only plan which will work is the plan of progress and prosperity of the people. The PTI government is busy in rendering public service. It is the profound Blessings of Almighty Allah that no corruption scandal has surfaced of the present PTI government. It is one of the most transparent and honest governments in the history of Pakistan, Buzdar claimed.

Criticising the previous PML-N government, the CM said that previous rulers had made records of corruption and filled up their personal coffers by plundering national wealth during their tenures. Those politicians who were in loot and plunder will be accounted for their corrupt practices, he added.
