Queen of Netherlands to arrive in Pakistan today
- She is on a three-day visit in her capacity as UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.

After a gap of three years, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands will arrive on Monday on a three-day official to Pakistan.
The queen is visiting Pakistan as the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. During her visit, the Queen is expected to meet President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
She will hold meetings with with a range of stakeholders from the public and private sectors. Queen Máxima will also attend the launch of Micro Payment Gateway, an initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan. Micro Payment Gateway is aimed at reducing cost of small payments and boosting digital transactions to benefit people and promote financial inclusion.
The queen has been the UN Secretary General’s Special Advocate (UNSGSA) for Inclusive Finance for Development since 2009. In this capacity, she is actively engaged worldwide in promoting access of individuals and enterprises to financial services at a reasonable cost, with the aim of improving economic and social development opportunities.
