Activities at Karachi and Qasim Ports
The Karachi Port handled 89,005 tonnes of cargo comprising 36,527 tonnes of import cargo and 52,478 tonnes of export cargo including 1,940 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargos of 36,527 tonnes comprised of 14,918 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,868 tonnes of DPA; 741 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 15,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 52,478 tonnes comprised of 12,729 tonnes of containerised cargo; 306 tonnes of bulk cargo; 30,494 tonnes of clinker; 7,899 tonnes of talcum powder and 1,050 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 1,940 containers comprising of 1,034 containers import and 906 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 301 of 20's and 346 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 20 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 308 of 20's and 299 of 40's loaded containers while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Ever Deluxe, Cape Male, Kota Nabil and Al Mahboobah carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. Mayssan, Kota Nabil and Gull Wing carrying containers and fertilizer respectively currently at the berths.
PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 125,607 tonnes comprising 69,007 tonnes of import cargo and 56,600 tonnes of export cargo including 1,960 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 69,007 tonnes includes 26,964 tonnes of coal; 15,000 tonnes of palm oil; 8,650 tonnes of soyabean; 7,753 tonnes of phosphoric acid and 10,640 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 56,600 tonnes includes 30,000 tonnes of condensate and 26,600 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,960 containers comprising of 560 containers import and 1,400 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely Ginga Hawk carrying containers sailed out to sea at night hours, while four more ships namely MSC Heidi, Azzura, MT Shalamar and Globe Glory carrying containers, coal, condensate and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday afternoon.
A total number of six ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, phosphoric acid and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as six vessels viz. APL Savannah, Weihe, Al-Daayen, Al-Fraiha, Aigote and Nordic Geneva carrying containers, soyabean, LNG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four ships viz. APL Savannah, Maersk Sentosa Al-Fraiha and A-Daayen carrying containers, LNG expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely Maersk Sentosa carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely MOL Gateway carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
